The economic costs of the intervention and the distress caused to the patient have meant that clinical trials have proliferated over the past few years in search for an effective means to prevent coronary artery restenosis. This work presents animal and clinical data on the pathophysiology, assessment and available therapies for the prevention of restenosis.
